From tomorrow, some of the Federal Government’s cost of living relief supports for families take effect. This includes a cheaper childcare package, changes to paid parental leave, and an increase in wages for aged care workers.

“From 1 July, we will see many of our key promises become reality – like changes to Paid Parental Leave, which will give families greater flexibility when they need it most,” Ms Chesters said.

“Labor’s cheaper childcare initiatives – which will see the childcare subsidy increase for around 5,000 families in the Bendigo electorate will help local families’ household budgets.”

Childcare will now be cheaper for 96% of families, with no family being worse off.

However, these are not the only measures coming into effect from July.

“Labor promised to establish a National Anti-Corruption Commission, and we have delivered. From July, the National Anti-Corruption Commission will be opening its doors,” said Ms Chesters.

“Labor is also delivering on its commitments to fix aged care,” Ms Chesters said. “We’re putting nurses back into nursing homes to restore dignity to residents in aged care."

The Albanese Labor Government has been working hard to deliver on promises made at the last election.
