Heathcote Bowling Club is one of the 12 successful not-for-profit and community organisations across the Bendigo electorate that received a share in $150,000 funding this round.
Heathcote Bowling Club received $20,000 for its project to replace old audio equipment from the bowls club and replace it with brand new speakers and a microphone setup on the green.
While playing host to tournament and social bowls, Heathcote Bowling Club is also a well-utilised community space, often used as a venue for community fundraisers, community lunches and events right across the year.
Through the delivery of this project, the community space now has new microphones and speakers which increase accessibility to older and hearing-impaired people and enhance their ability to hear commentary and announcements from the green.

“There really is a shortfall in funding available to our community groups for small capital works projects just like this one.
“I’m glad to see Heathcote Bowls Club receive funding for these important equipment upgrades that helps create an even more accessible community space.
“It’s vital that people in our community have accessible spaces available to them to meet and gather in our community – and this project delivers just that”.
