18 July 2023

Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters today announced 18 recipients of the 2022-2023 Volunteer Grants at a morning tea recognising their achievement.

The grants ranging between $1,000 and $5,000 will enable organisations in the Bendigo electorate to better support their volunteers and to purchase small equipment, pay for fuel, transport, and training.

A total of 18 groups will share in the $66,225 in funding available to each Federal electorate.

In order to be successful in the competitive process, groups were required to be a not-for-profit organisation that has a minimum of 40% of volunteers in their organisation.

Grant recipients this round vary from community and neighbourhood houses to men’s sheds and a Kyneton basketball club.

“From Kyneton to Raywood, this round has seen groups from right across the electorate recognised for the work they do to support volunteers.”

“Volunteers are an integral part of our society and make an invaluable contribution to the community.
