The Albanese Labor Government will today officially open a specialised
Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain GP Clinic in Bendigo, Victoria, providing women with
a one-stop option for diagnosis, intervention and treatment.

The Australian Government has created 11 new jobs in the Central Victoria region as part of its $228 million commitment to deliver new staff to Services Australia.

Today the Federal Member for Bendigo Lisa Chesters MP confirmed that there is an opportunity for Bendigo and local manufacturers to sustain and grow local jobs and defence manufacturing capabilities. 

The Federal Labor Government has announced that Emergency Relief and Food Relief providers in the Bendigo electorate will share in more than $14.4 million in 2023-24 in funding to help meet increased demand for services.

Today, 1 February 2024 is Medicare’s 40th Birthday, and residents in the Bendigo electorate are seeing the benefits of the Government’s record investments to strengthen it.

The Bendigo electorate has seen an increase of 8 percentage points in the rate of bulk billing in the first two months since the Albanese Government tripled the GP bulk billing incentive, amounting to an estimated 9,302 additional bulk billed trips to the GP.

Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters returns to Canberra next week for the first parliamentary sitting week of 2024.

Ms Chesters will be taking the issues and concerns of Central Victorians directly to Parliament.

The Albanese Government is delivering a tax cut for every taxpayer in the Bendigo electorate starting on July 1.

Labor’s new tax cuts are designed to provide cost-of-living relief to middle Australia while making our tax system fairer.

The Federal Government is supporting the continued recovery from COVID-19 in the regions, with up to $10,000 available to community groups across regional, remote and rural Australia.

Jointly funded disaster assistance has been activated for communities impacted by the Victorian Floods and Storms that commenced on 24 December 2023, under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). 

The commencement of the first stage of the Albanese Labor Government’s vaping reforms began on January 1 with the ban on importation of disposable single use vapes.

These changes will protect Central Victorians, particularly young people, from the harms of vaping and nicotine dependence, while ensuring those with a legitimate need to access therapeutic vapes can continue to do so, where clinically appropriate.
