BOOST FOR EMERGENCY RELIEF PROVIDERS TO BOLSTER SUPPORT FOR THOSE IN NEED

The Federal Labor Government has announced that Emergency Relief and Food Relief providers in the Bendigo electorate will share in more than $14.4 million in 2023-24 in funding to help meet increased demand for services.

MORE BULK BILLING IN THE BENDIGO ELECTORATE ON MEDICARE’S 40TH BIRTHDAY

Today, 1 February 2024 is Medicare’s 40th Birthday, and residents in the Bendigo electorate are seeing the benefits of the Government’s record investments to strengthen it.

The Bendigo electorate has seen an increase of 8 percentage points in the rate of bulk billing in the first two months since the Albanese Government tripled the GP bulk billing incentive, amounting to an estimated 9,302 additional bulk billed trips to the GP.

ALBANESE GOVERNMENT BANS VAPE IMPORTS

The commencement of the first stage of the Albanese Labor Government’s vaping reforms began on January 1 with the ban on importation of disposable single use vapes.

These changes will protect Central Victorians, particularly young people, from the harms of vaping and nicotine dependence, while ensuring those with a legitimate need to access therapeutic vapes can continue to do so, where clinically appropriate.
